Good marketing move - "Ford Europe", proud of its "Transit", made giant replica of prestigious trophy

"Ford Europe" has made the giant replica of the prestigious "International Van of the Year" trophy, as the focus of the new advertising campaign for "Ford Transit", the winner of year 2007.

The giant, 15.2 m high, replica was built on one of the special test lanes in "Ford" Technical center in Danton, near London in England. Three vehicles "Ford Transit" are high on the towers of the scaffolding, installed around the central motive to complete the picture.

- We are very proud of the new status "Ford Transit" and we wished to do something unusual with the award, something that no other winner has ever done before - said John Fleming, the President of "Ford Europe".

For the construction of the imposing replica of the trophy, 15.24 m high and 10.66 m wide, total of 7.24 km of scaffolding, 2,895 meters of wood, 360 square meters of aluminum and few thousand bolts were used.

By the way, "International Van of the Year" award is allotted by the expert jury made of journalists from 19 European countries. On the occasion of the awarding of the trophy for year 2007, the jury stated that they were impressed with the fact that the engineers of that company had made something even better from one of the best European vans.
