Will Bor get a new heating plant? – Smaller coal consumption for RSD 300.000 m

Municipal Council of Bor approved that current Institute for mining and metallurgy develops the feasibility study for the construction of another heating plant in the city of copper.

- Costs for coal at the moment cost RSD 570 and 600 m per year and we cannot pay it anymore - Zivorad Petrovic, president of the Bor municipality said– We will have to save on coal, not spending the one which costs 100 but the one which is EUR 25 most per ton. But, in order to do so, we will have to take boiler s which can use all kinds of fuels.

The first unofficial data show that the entire heating season costs in Bor, where 97% of households and shops are connected, would then be RSD 370 m.

- The price of the new heating plant construction would be up to RSD – Petrovic added. – The new heating plant should be located at the Institute where two boilers would heat the upper area of the city while the old facility with one boiler would heat the lower part of the municipality.

Petrovic says thus savings from coal would total up to RSD 300 m and adds that the heating system would thus finally be less overburdened.

- We would have significantly lower network pressure – six instead of current 15 bars and there would not be so many pipe breaks and unnecessary loss of heat, the first man of Bor outlined.
