MALI: Construction of Meita plant in Obrenovac will end in late 2015

(Sinisa Mali) The mayor of Belgrade, Sinisa Mali, has announced today that by the end of 2015 or in the spring 2016 latest, construction of the plant of the Chinese Meita where more than 1.000 people will be hired should end.



Mali said to journalists in Obrenovac that the new plant will be built at the location of former Prva iskra Baric", and it is up to the local self-governance and the City of Belgrade to take care about demolishing old buildings so that investors could start construction of new facilities.

- By the end of 2015 or in the spring 2016 latest, we can expect new section in Obrenovac and it is the most important news for the citizens of Obrenovac – Mali said.

The plant construction is, as he outlined, extremely important for the future of the people who live in Obrenovac since the most important thing is that they have jobs and Meita should open more than 1000 vacancies.

The mayor explained Meita is a leading company in automotive industry in the field of motor carrier mold production where it covers more than 50% of the market.
