Polish Andropol interested in Vranje-based Yumco
In the next ten days, representatives of Andropol from Poland should visit Vranje-based Yumco and check the condition of technological park and production capacities of this mainly state-owned company which has been undergoing restructuring process for years and has been looking for a strategic partner.
- Andropol representatives have already visited us once but then major part of the company was on strike so they gave up the detailed talks. In the meantime, GM at Yumco, Goran Djordjevic and me were visiting Poland and agreed upon a new visit communicating details on business consolidating after a strike which lasted for months - president of the Supervisory Board at Yumco, dr Branislav Popović confirmed for Danas.
He specified that this time it is a visit which should present to potential partners from Poland an overall screening of current situation, starting from headcount number of 1.700, potential users of social program as well as capacities of additional processing, knitting department and confection.
- Four privatization ways are optional and after the talks with the representatives of the Ministry of trade and the Agency for privatization, it is left to consider for which option partner from Poland will opt for and what the attitude of the major shareholder, the state in this case, will be – Popovic explains.
