CEZ announces acquisitions in the region soon

Pure profit of the Czech energy company, CEZ , during three quarters this year, decreased by 38% at the annual level to EUR 726 m. In nine months, company’s profit decreased by 9% compared to the same period last year to 147 billion crowns, the company announced.

The main reasons for profit and sales decrease are lower electricity prices and unusual warm weather in the beginning of the year, CTK reported.

The company however improved its annual results forecasts. Success in solving property issues abroad where they had losses contributed to this.

CEZ at the same time hinted that it could soon announce new foreign acquisition. It counts on the acquisition mainly to mid-European region.

He did not name specific company and they mentioned their interest in Slovakian electric power plant of Polish Energy
