"Volkswagen" announced production of automobile that would consume only 1 liter of fuel per 100 km

The production of an automobile that would consume one liter of fuel per 100 km is possible, says the President of the Supervisory Board of company "Volkswagen", Ferninand Pih. He stated that the new Head of the Concern, Martin Vintekorn, could get into the project for production of such automobile, which seemed too expensive, even utopian, until recently.

- Certain manufacturer said to me that he hoped that he would be able to manufacture assembling unit for such automobile for only 5,000 EUR, instead of 35,000 EUR, in two years. The aim is that the price of such automobile be reduced to the level that is acceptable to the citizens with average incomes – said Pih.
