The minister of trade and telecommunications, Rasim Ljajic, said for Tanjug that with Turkish ITIMAT they agreed to build a dairy in Sabac which should start producing in April.

Turkish investor did not need too much time to decide, it almost decided immediately when it saw the location in the industrial zone in Sabac although industrial zone in Zrenjanin, a location in Obrenovac as well as factory halls within PKB which could have easily been reconstructed and adapted were offered.

Earlier today, Ljajic has said that, upon touring the industrial zone in Sabac, the company will hire 100 people and that the investment totals EUR 4 m.

He said the investment is not important only for Sabac but for the entire Serbia since, as he said, Serbia has not had Turkish investors so far, only 30 companies operate in Serbia so the arrival of this investor would be the best message for other Turkish investors who withdrew from the markets of Syria, Iraq and Libya.

The owner of Turkish ITIMAT, Shahin Kara, said the daily milk production output in Serbia would be some 50 tons of milk and that firstly they are planning to start production of different kinds of cheese and butter

Dairy industry ITIMAT, headquartered in Istanbul, has three big plants in Turkey, produces 700 tons of milk per day, a farm has more than five thousand cows and 170 different products are produced of milk while 60% of production is for the Turkish market. The annual profit is EUR 300 m.
