Poland wants cooperation with Serbia in the field of energy, transport and food


Economies of Poland and Serbia, in order to improve future cooperation, should have more of sectorial cooperation, per fields, with an active support of business chambers, Milivoje Miletic, the acting head at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, SCC, said at the Poland-Serbia Forum held yesterday in Belgrade.
Miletic reminded Serbia entered the second year of implementation of the Agreement of Stabilization and Joining which is a legal framework for relations of Serbia and EU until our country becomes EU member. The interest to intensify cooperation with Poland is undoubted and Serbia is aiming to, in the first place, present new incentives for attracting investments, new technologies development, innovation and creativity of young experts, Miletic said.
He outlined it is necessary that economies of the two countries in future intensify sectorial cooperation, per fields and cooperation of business chambers whose potential has not been used, should play a big part.
This year saw Serbia’s export increase of 15,6% totaling EUR 112 m but import increased by 18,7% and reached EUR 397 m, Nikcevic said. Total Polish investments in Serbia are EUR 40 and 11 Polish companies operate at our market in the field of automotive industry, construction, energy, chemistry and IT.
After the plenary part of business forum, Polish and Serbian businessmen had a number of bilateral meetings, it was stated at the SCC’s website.
