NBS: PayPal confirms it is not up to us, delay is up to them

The National Bank of Serbia received an official confirmation from PayPalthat all legal and regulatory termsin Serbia for functioning of PayPal’s system have been fulfilled and that delayin money receipt option was caused due to technical problems NBS announced onMonday.

The company says that, even though they planned to enable in early Octoberowners of PayPal accounts in Serbia to receive money, they had to delay thefunction due to technical problems.

They say that the objective of PayPal to enable as easy online payments as possibleand outline they will not put the function into operation until they are surethat their clients will have the best experience possible..

- Having in mind the size and serious approach of the global company such asPayPal, explanations of third parties sounded rather unconvincing according to which`` unpredictablecircumstances for which the service was halted were financial regulations inour country”, especially of it is known that representatives of PayPal announcedimplementation of the money receipt service after the talks with representativesof NBS and authorized ministries about regulatory framework in Serbia and confirmed there are no obstaclesto service implementation – NBS states.

NBS stated in the announcement that it will continue to provide all necessary terms and support within its responsibilities to PayPal service functioning.
